The Edit Process · Executive coaching

Lead through change without losing yourself.

I coach founders, senior executives and professionals through periods of growth, conflict and transition, when the decisions are consequential and the usual ways of operating no longer work. The work helps you see more clearly, make better decisions, strengthen critical relationships and lead in a way you can sustain.

When the stakes are real

The pressure can come from any direction.

When things are accelerating

A fundraise, rapid growth, a sale, a new role or a larger mandate can expose the limits of old habits. You need to lead at a different scale while keeping hold of what matters.

When things are breaking

Revenue falls. Markets turn. A critical relationship deteriorates. A crisis or pivot demands decisions before the picture is complete. The external problem is real, and so is what it brings up in you.

What we may work on

The challenge in front of you, and the person meeting it.

Leading at a new level

Expanding scope, building the team and growing into a role that asks more of you.

Power, conflict & alignment

Working with co-founders, CEOs, boards, investors and peers when interests or expectations diverge.

What is driving you

Making doubt, anger, fear, ambition and old stories visible so they inform you without quietly running the show.

Integrity, transition & what comes next

Making hard choices that hold up against your values and finding clarity when the old path no longer fits.

Why The Edit Process

There is no final draft.

Leadership is iterative. We act with the awareness and information available, learn from what happens and revise. Coaching creates a disciplined place to do that work: preserve what is true, surface what is hidden and change what no longer serves.

Why work with me

I have carried the responsibility, not only studied it.

Before coaching, I was a litigator, technology executive, operator and founder. I have led through rapid growth, acquisitions, organizational conflict and crisis. I understand the business problem, the human dynamics around it and how hard it can be to act in line with your judgment and values when the pressure is high.

What the work can make possible.

Joel has helped me step back from the immediate demands of the business and lead more strategically. Our work has sharpened how I engage our CEO, set priorities and think about what the next stage of the company requires from me.
COO, unicorn startup
Joel has helped me understand the gap between how I intend to lead and how others may experience me. Our conversations are candid and challenging. They have helped me question old stories, make more deliberate choices and show up differently with key stakeholders.
VP, Operations, public technology company
Joel gives me a place to slow down and think clearly about the company, my decisions and how I am showing up as a founder. He listens carefully, gets beneath the surface and helps me turn reflection into action.
